Electricity transmission

Belgium has one transmission system operator transmitting electricity across the high voltage network: Elia. This operator supplies electricity to the distribution system of Eandis and charges a tariff for this. The CREG is in charge of approving the tariffs for this transmission. These costs are charged to the suppliers.

Eandis reserves the right to adjust the tariffs which are charged to offset the costs of Elia when Elia modifies its tariffs. Furthermore, if the application criteria of the tariffs of Elia for the various customer groups were to change as a result of a decision by authorised bodies, the distribution system operator will adjust the tariffs which are charged to offset the costs of Elia in accordance with such a decision.
